Every year in mid-June, the castles, manor houses and stately homes in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern invite their guests to join them in welcoming the summer in stately fashion. In 2022, the MidsummerRemise took place for the 15th time. The state heritage festival invited visitors to discover and enjoy on June 18 in Mecklenburg and June 19 in Western Pomerania. The 16th MittsommerRemise will take place on June 17 and 18, 2023.
Classical music on a balmy summer night, evening walks through picturesque castle parks and interesting conversations with lords of the manor over a glass of wine - with such romantic and magical program highlights, "MidsummerRemise - The Long Weekend of Nordic Castles, Manor Houses and Mansions in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania" delights culture vultures from all over Germany.
Visitors get interesting insights behind the scenes and are taken into the respective cultural history of the participating houses. The lords of the manor entice visitors with guided tours of the estate, concerts, exhibitions, carriage rides, bonfires and culinary delights. The early start in the afternoon hours of Saturday allows guests to start their cultural marathon in Mecklenburg in the sunshine and experience this festival in honor of the summer solstice until late dusk. On Sunday, they can then enjoy the second part in Western Pomerania to the fullest.
