From the parking lot in Hagen, you can take the shuttle bus to the National Park Center or hike about 30 minutes through the forest of the Stubnitz to the Königsstuhl. From the Königsstuhl National Park Center, it is worth taking a short detour to the Victoria View. From here you have the most beautiful view of the white chalk coast and the imposing Königsstuhl. The route starts below the National Park Center, where you turn right onto the hiking trail towards Lohme. On the upper shore path it goes straight ahead with great views of the Baltic Sea and the forested cliff. From this unique part of the coast you can see chalk areas lying in the water from a depth of about 80 meters. When the sun shines, the water appears azure blue to emerald green. The rustic beech forests along the coast were declared a World Heritage Site in 2011. On the quiet path you can observe fallow and roe deer, fox, badger and raccoon dog or discover the rare orchid lady's slipper. Past the Stubbenhörn, the path leads to the Hanken shore. The Ranzow beacon stood here until 2002. The dismantled lighthouse from 1904 can now be seen on Arkona. Over a small bridge we cross the Gesnicker Bach and now walk along the steep slopes to Lohme.

In Lohme the small harbor offers a view over the Baltic Sea to Cape Arkona. If you are hungry, you will find everything from fish rolls to cakes at the local restaurateurs. From the harbor you can also see the Schwanenstein, one of the largest erratic blocks on Rügen. It weighs about 162 tons and was probably transported from Bornholm to its present location during the last ice age. It is stylized in the coat of arms of the municipality of Lohme and thus quasi the landmark of the municipality. After the short stop in Lohme, we continue on the Ranzower Weg in the direction of the national park. Already from a distance shines the white castle Ranzow, which is used today as a hotel with a golf course. In the restaurant you can enjoy homemade cake with a view of the Baltic Sea.

If you wish, you can take the bus from here to the Hagen parking lot or hike back on paved paths through the forests of the Stubnitz. The route now continues straight ahead through the forest back to the Königsstuhl. You will pass the Herthaburg, a rampart castle from the time of the Slavic settlement of Rügen from the 8th to the 12th century. The rampart was built on an existing ridge on the northeastern shore of Lake Hertha in the Stubnitz and is up to 17 meters high. There are many legends and myths about the Hertha Castle and the Hertha Lake. The path leads through the beech forests of the Jasmund National Park back to the Königsstuhl National Park Center. It is worth visiting the museum, where hikers can learn all the background information about the formation of the chalk coast and the ancient beech forests in an interactive and exciting way. From the National Park Center you can reach the Hagen parking lot again by shuttle bus.

Hikes along steep banks:
Steep banks are special sections of coastline and are subject to constant change. Washouts and break-offs are to be observed constantly. For your own safety, be sure to keep your distance from the break-off edges, use only designated trails, and heed warning signs.
