Kurzen Trechow Castle

Castle Basedow

The irregular three-winged complex was built from the 16th to the 19th century on the remains of a medieval castle. In the 19th century the hereditary marshal Count Hahn had the castle remodeled by the Berlin architect Stüler. In 1891 neo-Renaissance forms were added in parts. Particularly noteworthy are the terracotta portraits on the facade. The largest landscape park in the country (200 ha) was created by Peter Joseph Lenné in the middle of the 19th century. The castle and outbuildings are being converted into a hotel resort.

Elbe Cycle Route

Hochuferweg 2.0

For many trekking enthusiasts, the Hochuferweg on Rügen along the chalk coast is a highlight. The views of the vastness of the Baltic Sea and the imposing chalk cliffs are simply unique. People often hike from Sassnitz to the Königsstuhl. However, the second section, from the Königsstuhl to the small harbor town of Lohme, is at least as charming and is still an insider tip with its narrow paths through the beech forests along the shore. The round tour, which is only about 8 kilometers long, can be perfectly combined with a visit to the Königsstuhl National Park Center at the end.

This is the top spot on the Müritz - and also the only one where you can kite on the water. The small but fine sandy beach slopes so gently that the water is shallow for 500 meters. This is the home port of the "Wappen von Ueckermünde" (Coat of Arms of Ueckermünde). Hiring on Germany's first tall ship is welcome! Up to four wheelchair users can hoist sails themselves on day trips and multi-day cruises.

Nature Park Trail in MV E9a

The nature park trail in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern runs right through the inland from the Schaalsee biosphere reserve to the island of Usedom. It connects countless glistening lakes, rolling hills and shady forests with beaches and the sea. All seven nature parks in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern can be discovered along the way. But also romantic manor houses and picturesque villages, sea eagles and ospreys, cranes and storks above the hikers as well as otters and beavers among water lilies, irises and orchids in the water guarantee unique nature experiences. Surf Spot Ueckermünde (Stettiner Haff)
