Chiara Fleischhacker's film about an addicted pregnant woman is non-judgmental and questions the penal system for mothers.
Jenny's hair is dyed black, her nails are long, colorful and artificial, her clothes are skimpy and her face is blatantly made up. Anyone who sees her quickly puts her in a certain category. She is also pregnant. She doesn't know what month she is in, nor does it stop her from smoking and taking crystal meth. She lives with her boyfriend and father Bolle in an anonymous high-rise block. The days pass by, but Jenny is about to start a prison sentence and she begins to wonder what to do next.
Chiara Fleischhacker knows that she is confronting her audience with a difficult protagonist. Her film therefore approaches her very cautiously and allows us to participate in her everyday life. The drug is not just an escape from, but an aspect of this everyday life. Something that she and Bolle need in order to function. The film cleverly and consistently resists the frequently used explanations, avoids clichés and resists the temptation of a happy ending.
