Writing competition for plays in Low German that appeal to an audience aged 18 to 50 in particular
The Heimatverband Mecklenburg-Vorpommern e. V. invites you to take part in the writing competition for plays in Low German. We are looking for new plays that appeal in particular to an audience between the ages of 18 and 50.
Requirements for submissions:
- The plays should be written in Low German.
- The recommended length is approx. 30 to 45 minutes and/or approx. 30 pages - deviations are possible as long as the idea and story are convincing.
- There is no fixed Low German spelling, but consistency within the text is requested.
- Target group: Young linguists and young Lüd (18 to 50 years)

Award ceremony:
The award ceremony will take place on 25.05.2025 at the "Plattdüütsch Bäukerdag" in the Botanical Garden in Rostock.
Background to the competition:
The writing competition is part of the model project "Späldäl Rostock", which is dedicated to promoting young talent in Low German amateur theater. The aim is to develop new plays and thus introduce other target groups to Low German theater and appeal to a new audience.
Participation:
Anyone who enjoys writing in Low German can take part - regardless of previous theater experience.
