World Book Day in the Wolgast City Library
Together with around 3,000 players throughout Germany, the Wolgast City Library is giving away the book "Cool as Bolle" to fourth and fifth graders as well as special needs and welcome school children around UNESCO World Book Day on April 23.
To celebrate this day, Wolgast City Library is inviting all young readers to take part in a scavenger hunt.
From April 7, between 10:00 and 17:00, they can solve puzzles at various stations and win the comic novel "Cool wie Bolle".
This book will be handed over on April 23.
"Ich schenk dir eine Geschichte" is a joint campaign by bookstores and libraries, Stiftung Lesen, Stiftung Buchkultur and the Börsenverein's reading promotion program, Deutsche Post and DHL, cbj Verlag and ZDF.
The aim of the initiative is to inspire children to read every year with stories that appeal to their interests. A comic novel was developed to ensure that the campaign also works in classes with different reading levels.
In the comic novel "Cool wie Bolle" by author Thomas Winkler and illustrator Timo Grubing, schoolchildren can expect a humorous friendship story about the twins Bodo and Lea: Bodo is very disappointed. He has been waiting for days for
his twin sister Lea and him to be invited to the best pool party ever by their neighbor Mira. But the invitation just won't come. For Bodo, there is only one explanation: his sister and he are simply not cool enough.
Bodo's only hope? A self-developed program that will turn Lea and him into the coolest siblings in the whole school within a week, step by step. But what is actually cool? And will Bodo's plan work?
