In the workshop series "Art, AI and creative writing", award-winning author Tobias Reußwig shows how the latest AI facilitates entry into artistic creation and teaches basic creative writing techniques.
AI systems such as ChatGPT are sprouting up like mushrooms in the digital world.
The tempting promise: to have good texts written quickly and easily on any topic, to receive correct answers to all questions and to generate fantastic images in no time at all.
But what will artistic and creative work with this tool look like in the future?
Will we simply throw two or three requests at our digital assistants and our loftiest ideas will be realized as if by magic?
It's not quite that simple and it probably never will be.
But the possibilities currently available are certainly capable of making it easier for us to start creating art, to give our imagination a helping hand with sketches and illustrations and to provide us with useful feedback on our texts at any time and in any place.
In the course "Art, AI and creative writing", practical applications for digital assistants in artistic creation will be presented by the author and literary translator Tobias Reußwig and will be tested interactively by the participants.
These three areas will be highlighted in particular:
- Image generation for inspiration for own works
- Methods for creating and refining plots
- Discussion of own short texts with the robot
In addition, basic creative writing techniques will be taught. No previous knowledge is necessary, please bring a digital device.
