Have you always wanted to know which plants are flowering in the garden and which insects are out and about in the meadow, but you don't want to work with an analog identification key? Then use your smartphone in future.
With the help of interactive species tracking apps, it is now possible for everyone to find out more about our local nature. Using photos or sound recordings, it is possible to find out exactly what can be seen or heard with the help of these apps. And the good thing is that the data collected in this way gives scientists a comprehensive picture of the occurrence and distribution of animal and plant species.
Frank Joisten will present which apps are available and how best to use them in his lecture at the Winter Academy.
His lecture will kick off the lecture series "Winter Academy 2024/25" on November 14, 2024 at 6:00 p.m. in the visitor information center of the Szczecin Lagoon Nature Park (Am Stettiner Haff) at Eggesin train station. All interested parties are cordially invited. Admission is free.
