Public herb hike on April 19, 2025, 11 a.m. through the grounds of the Schwerin-Mueß Open-Air Museum.
Learn all about the secret powers of herbs on a hike with Anne-Katrin Schmiedehaus-Engel through the herb garden and along the orchards of the Schwerin-Mueß open-air museum.
Some pinch your calves, others are soft or furry. Some bite your nose, others exude a magical fragrance: herbs... there are so many of them, and we still know very little about them.
Learn interesting and mystical facts about the power of flowers, leaves and roots, about vitamins and nature's little medicine chest. Anne-Katrin Schmiedehaus-Engel runs a naturopathic practice and herbal school in Schwerin. She also looks after the herb garden at the open-air museum in Schwerin-Mueß and organizes interesting guided tours of the meadows on the museum grounds. On the tour, she will take you past the herb bed and the village school teacher's garden. There you can discover, experience and taste our local medicinal and wild herbs. Depending on the season, the weather and by arrangement, you will have your own individual wild herb experience. You are also welcome to arrange small activities such as making wild herb butter together or preparing a powerful herbal soup.
Meeting point: at the museum entrance
Costs: Museum admission - no extra costs for the guided tour.
