On the third weekend in August, the Vikings return to the island city.
5th Viking Festival at Malchow Monastery
We have learned from reliable sources that the Vikings will return to our small island town on August 16 and 17 and will once again occupy Malchow Monastery. They will occupy the Damenplatz, a meadow on the Malchow monastery, with their camp and numerous stalls. At this year's Viking festival, visitors can once again immerse themselves in the life of a Northman with his customs and crafts.
Over two days, there will be show fights, weapon shows and explanations, handmade medieval music, rare crafts such as blacksmithing, horn carving, instrument making, textile crafts and much more. Children can look forward to a children's blacksmith, archery, puppet theater, stories from the leather grandpa, handicrafts, face painting and much more in Wiki-Land.
If you like, you can show off your muscle power in a Viking boat and discover Lake Malchow from the water.
There will also be plenty to eat and drink, with mead, Striezel, hearty liquid food in the tavern, delicious ice cream from Eiskalten Ulrich, rustic food from the barbecue and soup pot, old Bohemian cuisine and much more ...
On Saturday at 10:30 a.m. the town hall on the island will be stormed. The call goes out to all little Vikings (in disguise if you like) who, together with the big strong Northmen, will take over the Malchow town hall and only return the town key in exchange for a pledge. Loot is guaranteed!
