The Weimar guitarist, composer and sound artist Falk Zenker was recently named "one of the most creative nylon guitarists in the country" by the specialist magazine Akustik Gitarre. For three decades now, he has been delighting audiences and critics again and again with his virtuoso guitar playing, which ranges from medieval, classical and flamenco to modern world music, improvisation and live looped beats.
Jazzpodium, for example, wrote about him: "He is a special kind of sound tinkerer and bridge builder, classically trained and blessed with the gift of creating connections between spaces and times in a sensitive, stylish and unique way that only he can do - endearing, cosmopolitan, typically Zenker and very, very beautiful.
Zenker is currently playing and improvising music from his last three albums Estampie, Falkenflug and Wellentanz as well as new, as yet unreleased material. With sophisticated live looping, he occasionally multiplies his guitar playing into orchestral, pulsating soundscapes, which he is the first German acoustic guitarist to celebrate on stage since 1997.
Falk Zenker promises an inspiring concert experience in which he creates spaces for weightless dreaming, breathtaking flights of fancy, cheerful and creative leaps of thought and encounters with himself.
Falk Zenker, born in 1967 in Mittweida, studied classical guitar and jazz in Weimar and has worked with flamenco, medieval music and electro-acoustic music.
He regularly tours as a soloist and with his ensemble Nu:n, composes for film, theater and literature, realizes experimental projects and sound installations and creates music for self-awareness.
To date, he has released nine CDs with Acoustic Music, Raumklang and Timezone Records as well as music books of his compositions with Edition Margaux and Fingerprint.
