250 years of Caspar David Friedrich - Anniversary: Art historical and archaeological tour in Dwasieden Castle Park with archaeologist Dr. Katrin Staude
In addition to the remains of the military and various monuments, such as the preserved stables and various remains of columns, the former castle grounds and the approx. 100-hectare park are also home to at least 22 barrows from the Bronze Age and impressive megalithic tombs from the Neolithic period. Caspar David Friedrich painted one of these graves, which is known for its good condition and the large guard stones.
