Exhibition
Galerie Kunst am Dom in the Barlach town of Güstrow is delighted to present an extraordinary exhibition of works by the renowned artist Harald Metzkes. From November 15, 2024 to January 18, 2025, selected paintings by the artist will be on display, providing an overview of his work from 1956 to 2015. The exhibition will be complemented by large-format lithographs that impressively showcase Metzkes' versatility and special artistic talent.

Harald Metzkes is one of the most important artists of post-war modernism. During his artistic career, he has intensively explored the human figure and abstraction, developing a distinctive, expressive style in the process. His works are characterized by concise forms, powerful colour compositions and a deep engagement with social themes. The paintings and lithographs on display not only offer an insight into the development of his work, but also fit seamlessly into the history of German art in the second half of the 20th century.
