Painting and graphic art are one of the main areas of the Mecklenburg Foundation's collection. Numerous acquisitions in the field of painting over the last 50 years have made it possible to add paintings and prints depicting seasonal impressions of the Mecklenburg landscape to the collection.
The special exhibition "Winter Pictures - Painting and Landscape" presents works of art that depict landscape and architecture in winter dress. Artists such as Marie Hager (1872-1947), Wilhelm Facklam (1893-1972), Rudolf Gahlbeck (1885-1972) and Erich Venzmer (1893-1975) painted landscapes with a blanket of snow or the onset of snowfall.
The exhibition is supported by private and public lenders.
