Hedwig Woermann on the 65th anniversary of her death
Hedwig Woermann (1871 to 1960) grew up in a cosmopolitan Hamburg trading house, traveled to all continents, decided in 1900 to train as an artist and marry with equal rights. Accordingly, an extensive, exciting legacy of large-format oil paintings and 25 unique silk scroll paintings has survived. The Kunstverein Ribnitz-Damgarten e.V. preserves, manages and maintains these works and will be showing a second part of this artist's estate until the end of 2025.
A selection of her works will be presented in the exhibition "Kunstsammlung des Landkreises VR" from January 26 to December 31, 2025 in the Galerie im Kloster.
