Special exhibition: Focus on photographs by Peter M. Koslik
Not holding the camera still for two seconds (or more) but moving it in a variety of ways is what characterizes this special technique of gestural photography. What began for Peter M. Koslik (born 1965) as a happy coincidence, a play of light and movement during the exposure, has developed over a decade into an experimental journey that transforms the everyday into the extraordinary. In a dialog of intention and chance, the artist merges photography with the spontaneity of abstract painting.
Equipped with a camera or cell phone, he makes use of controlled chaos. The images defy the fleeting moment and invite us to explore the stories beneath their abstract surface.
