Violin solo
Johann Sebastian Bach has left a special mark. For example in Eugène Ysaÿe's 2nd Sonata, which takes up themes from Bach's 3rd Partita. Bach's life was shaped by his first wife. Probably his most famous work for solo violin - the Chaconne from the 2nd Partita - is an epitaph for Maria Barbara. Both works can be heard in this concert.
