One of the new theater projects at KlangWert/werk3 is the performance of the Georg Kreisler play "Tonight: Lola Blau". The play dates back to 1971 and has made theater history ever since.
Experience the popular actress Ulrike Hanitzsch, who is not unknown in the state capital. The production is directed by Dirk Audehm. Christiane Möckel is responsible for the musical direction, rehearsals and piano accompaniment. Our audience can especially look forward to the return of one of the greatest artists who has shaped culture in this city for decades as a singer in the opera section of the Mecklenburg State Theater. Erika Ewald, who herself brought a legendary "Lola Blau" to the stage in the 1980s, will be seen in the new production as the alter ego of the title character. "LOLA BLAU is the story of powerlessness. Lola is just as helpless in the face of anti-Semitism as she is in the face of her own Jewishness. She is powerless against the stubborn Swiss, rages impotently against her sex career in America, and in the end she is again powerless against the Austrian eternally-strict. All she really wants to do is dance and sing a little and make her audience happy. But she has to realize that it's no use just trying to get a modest little place in the sun. Above all, everyone must try to remove the obstacles that block the sun for themselves and their fellow human beings." (Georg Kreisler)
