We cordially invite you to the lecture and discussion event with Dr. Udo Metzinger, lecturer in political education.
Since the re-election of Donald Trump as US President, news from the White House has been coming out almost daily, causing concern. On the one hand, there are developments within the USA, such as the tough migration policy, Elon Musk's restructuring of the federal authorities and encroachments on academic freedom, which call into question the democratic rule of law and further fuel polarization in the country. How stable is American democracy and its institutions? What is the mood in the country?
Europeans must also prepare for changes in foreign policy. In addition to new trade disputes, the new US administration is making it very clear that Europe's security will no longer be fully guaranteed by the USA in future, but will be the primary task of the Europeans themselves. What does this mean for Germany and the new German government? Can the Europeans guarantee support for Ukraine on their own?
A multitude of questions that we would like to discuss together with Dr. Udo Metzinger.
