Station theater in front of, on and behind the stage
From the doorman to the artistic director: The theater brings together a colorful crowd of people. Almost colorful enough to mirror our society: isn't it also a chaotic bunch of people thrown together to write stories? Is it not also a stage? And doesn't everything behind the scenes - just like in the theater - look different than we think?
"The Society Building" explores the patterns that shape us as a society in an immersive theater experience in front of, on and behind the stage. In the process, the theater itself becomes a social building: What do its nested spaces tell us? What traces are revealed on closer inspection? And what history are we writing as a society?
