Crime comedy by Sandra Zabelt
After the will of Mr. Marston, who has died in a not entirely transparent manner, his relatives are somewhat perplexed: everyone assumed that the inheritance would be divided equally between his sister Edna, his nephew Philip and his foster daughter Emily.
But now the lion's share of the not inconsiderable fortune is to go to Emily. Miss Edna will be able to make a living and will also have the right to live in the manor house for life, but Philip is to go away empty-handed. And even if this doesn't seem to be essential at first, as he wants to marry Emily anyway now that his uncle can no longer put any obstacles in his way, irritating and increasingly dangerous things soon start to happen at the manor house.
Emily's life seems to be in serious danger, so Miss Marple, an old friend of Miss Edna's, and Inspector Blake from Scotland Yard have their hands full trying to protect the rich heiress's life.
