Opera by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart
Will power triumph over love? Or will power bow to love? Mozart's "The Royal Shepherd" is a touching story about the fulfillment of duty, loyalty, self-determination and personal happiness.
More than 30 different composers set Pietro Metastasio's libretto to music. But only the young Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart set the story to music in such an enchanting and touching way, in an entertaining, playful and dreamy pastoral play!
The five roles in this extremely rarely performed serenata are performed by prizewinners of the 33rd International Singing Competition of the Rheinsberg Castle Chamber Opera. They perform together with the Kammerakademie Potsdam under the direction of Florian Ludwig. André Bücker will take his place in the director's chair: the director of the Augsburg State Theatre stands for innovative concepts with his artistic signature and way of working. He caused a sensation in Rheinsberg in 2022 with the world premiere of the opera "P.".
