As part of the Jewish festival week "30 years of the Jewish community of Rostock and 20 years of the community center at Augustenstraße 20"
In April 2024, the Jewish community of Rostock will be 30 years old, and in September 20 years ago, the community moved into the community center at Augustenstraße 20. These wonderful anniversaries were actually supposed to be celebrated with a week of festivities in December. However, this did not happen due to construction work. The Jewish Community of Rostock is therefore all the more pleased that it can now invite you to a number of concerts.
The Oskar Strock & Eddie Rosner Orchestra® is an exclusive music formation that already performed successfully in 2024 as part of the cultural program of the Central Council of Jews in Germany. Commissioned by the International Oskar Strock and Eddie Rosner Society, the ensemble cultivates the legacy of two outstanding, persecuted musicians of the 20th century. Oskar Strock (1893 - 1975) was a master of tango in Eastern Europe, while Eddie Rosner (1910 - 1976) left his mark on swing and jazz in several countries. Their music, once considered lost, is brought to life in new arrangements and offers an unforgettable experience for jazz and tango fans. Under the direction of Dmitri Dragilev, the orchestra celebrates the timeless magic of her works and creates a perfect blend of relaxation, reflection and dance.
