A fairy tale about snowflakes, sugar fairies, harlequins, chocolate, marzipan and a young prince: The girl Clara has been given a nutcracker for Christmas. Everything looks like a cozy and peaceful Christmas. But what is it? During the night, the nutcracker suddenly comes to life. And not only him, but also Clara's toys! But that's not all. Just as Clara has recovered from her initial astonishment, things get really dangerous in the nursery. An army of mice attacks and wants to destroy the nutcracker. When Clara saves his life, something quite unbelievable happens...
The world-famous ballet fairy tale "The Nutcracker" was composed by Peter Tchaikovsky in St. Petersburg in 1892. Today, it is one of the most popular and beloved pieces of ballet literature and is performed all over the world, especially at Christmas. In 2025, the Kreismusikschule "Carl Orff" Nordwestmecklenburg is bringing the "Nutcracker" to the stage in a modern and child-friendly version. Enchanting choreography, a surprising and rousing selection of music and around 50 master students from the dance classes will whisk audiences young and old (aged 5 and over) away to a magical world. Kelly Marie Sullivan is the director.
