Tragicomedy by György Spiró / TdA Stendal
A normal married couple - somewhere in the provinces. He shuffles from job to job, she earns the family income as a cleaner. But then he hits the jackpot. Six correct numbers, sixty million. The winnings haven't even been collected yet, but his desires are already on the rise. You could buy new curtains, a car, a house, villas, palaces, an entire Mediterranean island! But fears are also on the rise. Thieves, fraudsters and tax collectors are lurking everywhere.
They quarrel and mock each other, reopen old wounds and make new plans. And one question becomes ever more pressing for them: what is actually wrong with us? You can't buy love, closeness or trust. But you can lose it all, and the more money you have, the faster. Sudden wealth gradually becomes a problem.
The play "Der Glücksfall" by Hungarian author György Spiró is only superficially about the question of what to do with all the money. It is a homage to life's dodges. You can laugh or cry about them or both at the same time (if you can).
