The cycle of the elements: WATER
A dance poem about the ambivalence and
changeability of WATER - from the creation of
the first drop to the
mighty currents of the oceans.
Water is the basic element of life.We
ourselves consist of around seventy percent of
it and it covers
just as much of the surface of
our planet
in the form of streams,
rivers, lakes and oceans
.
A lack of water causes entire regions to become deserted, while
floods bury others.
Water is ambivalent and changeable
and therefore has great potential for dramatic dance.
The Deutsche
Tanzkompanie tra
ces this potential
and develops a dance poem that does not close its eyes to the destructive
forces inherent in this element
.
but prefers to
deal
with the
invigorating and sensual aspects
in an
aesthetically
playful way using the means of
dance.
