A scenic story of Faust and Mephisto, of angels and witches, of doubt and longing ...
On Saturday, October 5, 2024, the curtain rises at ThUSCH for a very unusual
experiment that - how could it be otherwise - ends in a witch's kitchen.
Dr. Heinrich Faust (Erich Czerwonatis) embarks on a journey of self-doubt and a failed suicide attempt.
failed suicide attempt, he falls into the hands of a certain Mr. Mephisto (Katrin Dutz), who
leads him via detours to a veritable rejuvenation cure.
Heinrich Faust has no way of knowing that this Mephisto is the devil himself. Nor that
Mephisto has made a wager with God: "Draw this spirit from its source, and lead him, if thou canst grasp him, to
him, if you can grasp him, down with you on your way..."
From now on, Dr. Heinrich Faust and Mephisto embark on an exciting journey that ends in a
witches' kitchen at ThUSCH, Am Schulkamp 3. When you are in a midlife crisis
he resorts to extremely unorthodox means. Heinrich Faust was no exception. But until the literary
Botox al la Goethe takes effect, he has to delve into the depths of human existence.
In a co-production between the ThUSCH acting ensemble and the independent theater group UrSprung
and the independent theater group UrSprung, Lutz Potthoff and his co-director Oliver Gerke have created a scenic picture book,
which accompanies Heinrich Faust and Mephisto on their journey through the big world.
