"You have to do something for your heart"... that's why the opera singer Luipoldt Löwenhaupt has brought home a live goose to be served as a festive roast with red cabbage and apples at Christmas.
But the children Peter and Elli have a completely different opinion. They take the goose into the children's room, make friends with it, christen it Auguste and the Christmas preparations take a surprisingly different turn.
