Gut im Abgang - Der Satirische Jahresrückblick 2024. The Berlin cabaret theater DISTEL invites you to an entertaining and amusing evening in the Zarrentin monastery.
Isn't it said that we have to understand the past in order to master the future? In other words, we need to understand all the incomprehensible things in order to be able to look forward with joy? This undoubtedly requires support - and who better than the satirists and cabaret artists of the Berlin cabaret theater DISTEL to put past events and the rough edges of our everyday lives in the right and understandable light?
In their new program "Gut im Abgang", they recall the topics that have been rightly forgotten and pay tribute to everything that will be written in the history books in the near or distant future. There is blasphemy, dancing and singing - the DISTEL gives the year 2024 the rest according to all the rules of cabaret art, whereby the most important principle is of course: boredom is forbidden!
"Hurray, humor is planned!" was the name of the first programme of DISTEL, which was founded in 1953 by order of the East Berlin magistrate. It was intended to use satire as a weapon in the class struggle against the West. While DISTEL was never a good little wallflower in GDR times, it also boldly and rebelliously went "Headlong through the change" during the upheaval. Today, after more than 70 years, the cabaret theater DISTEL stands for satire on the pulse of the times like hardly any other institution in Germany.
And so, in their new play "Gut im Abgang", the topics of the year 2024 are once again placed under the burning glass of humor. An entertaining, political and musical review of the year with Nora Boeckler, Jens Neutag and Axel Pätz. "With humor and depth, but guaranteed without Markus Lanz," the ensemble advertises.
