Romantic solo piano concerto At the beginning of autumn, summer bids farewell with a magnificent riot of colors in the leaves and the last mild rays of sunshine.
With her romantic program, Belarusian pianist Tatjana Karpouk would like to reflect on this wonderful time of year with its intense images, aromas, feelings and sounds and invite the audience to dream:
These are dreams "Of strange people and lands" by Robert Schumann, of love in "Liebestraum" and in "Un Sospiro - A Sigh" by Franz Liszt, or of water that is sometimes calm, sometimes turbulent, as in the "Barcarolle" by Frederic Chopin.
Dreams can also be eerie, as in Sergei Prokofiev's "Devilish Whispers", or tempt you to dance with angels, as in Astor Piazzolla's tango suite "Angel".
As the day draws to a close, we listen to a peaceful "Evening Song" by Nikolai Medtner and dream on the banks of the Neva with Peter Tchaikovsky's "White Nights".
And in the early morning we enjoy the lovely birdsong in Mili Balakirev's fantasy "The Lark"
In this concert, you will hear and enjoy music that evokes memories and transports you to a dreamy summer night.
