Cycle tour (approx. 40 km) with bird watching around the Krakow Lower and Upper Lakes with a nature park ranger
The "European Day of Parks" is celebrated throughout Europe on May 24. The aim of this day is to bring people closer to nature and make them aware of the value of protected areas with their rich biodiversity. Next Wednesday, May 24, 2024, there will be a big bike tour around Lake Krakow in the Nossentiner/Schwinzer Heath Nature Park to mark the occasion. Nature park ranger Edgar Bartel will accompany the tour and share interesting facts about the landscape, nature and the environment. With a bit of luck, birds such as white-tailed eagles can be spotted. The tour is approx. 40 km long and takes around 5-6 hours. The meeting point is at 10 a.m. at the Old Synagogue in Krakow am See (Schulplatz 1, 18292 Krakow am See). As the road at Wadehäng is currently closed, this year the tour will first go around Krakower Untersee and then continue via Dobbin and Glave around Krakower Obersee. Those interested should remember to bring sufficient provisions and, above all, drinks, as there is no opportunity to stop for refreshments along the way. It is not necessary to register for the tour.
