The 17th Swing Breeze, as lively and endearing as every year, brings together people who love music, dance and old vehicles.
On Saturday, July 13, at 5:00 pm
DJ Schellack from Leipzig will open the swing evening and accompany it during regenerative breaks with his enchanting gramophone. At 17:30, big band jazz from the JellyFish Orchestra from Wismar will delight the audience. Duke Ellington, Count Basie, modern and contemporary music - all facets of a big band at the highest level. When Ludwig Buhrow arrives in his vintage Mercedes bus, he brings along the cool dancers of the Swing Connection from Rostock. A live dance class to join in at 19:00 directly in front of the stage.
The WEEKENDERS from Ribnitz will be playing at 20:00. Anja, the lady at the piano, and Mark Hantusch, the indie rocker, together with their band and brass section, set post-modern swing accents that will get you dancing. Our national act from Hamburg Mikel Onetwo presents energetic rock'n'roll and rockabilly at 21:30. Whether classics, pop, country or metal: the songs sound as if they have always been played in the Mikel Onetwo sound. The band has also arranged some mash-ups of well-known songs. Santana's Smooth sounds suspiciously like Stray Cat Strut. Paranoid mixes with War Pigs and Iron Man and becomes a Black Sabath rockabilly retrospective.
From 23:00, DJ Schellack brings the evening to a lively close with dance music.
On Sunday morning, July 14,
the charm offensive of our classic car friends begins at 10:00 am. Polished chrome, the sound of old engines, passion for old technology. Marvel and enjoy. Civilian vehicles that not only drove in the golden age of the swing era will be welcomed with breakfast and music. The Marching Band Mikel Onetwo will provide the musical backdrop. Entertaining, precise, passionate. Don't miss the departure of the vehicles at 11:30 am!
You can look forward to another concert at 13:00. The Toughest Tenors from Berlin will revive the long and legendary tradition of "saxophone battles" in jazz. Without false nostalgia. Without trend doping. But with concentrated energy, unbridled joy of playing, quick-witted humor. And with the heart of a boxer.
