Bionics - Man learns from nature
On April 13, 2025, we will be joining the Rostock Zoo Society on a Sunday tour on the topic of "Bionics - Man learns from nature". The word bionics is a combination of biology and technology and is a science that uses phenomena from nature for technical developments. Biological structures or processes are observed and transferred to technology, architecture or medicine. Humans therefore make use of ideas from nature. For example, shark skin has been used as a model for swimsuits, butterfly wings for displays, termite mounds for climate-friendly houses and woodpecker skulls for shock absorbers. This exciting tour of the zoo is all about these and many other good ideas from nature.
The Sunday tour is free of charge, all you need is a valid day or annual ticket for admission to the zoo. The meeting point is at 10 am on April 13, 2025 at the Barnstorfer Ring entrance.
