an action day on the subject of geology at the Müritzeum
The Müritzeum's geological collection is rich in stones and as old as stone - Eigen Geinitz was a famous geologist - but what exactly does a geologist do today? How can you identify a stone? How did people use stones in the past and for what? You can get to the bottom of all this at the Geology Action Day at the Müritzeum. At various stands in the museum garden, you can explore the topics of geology in a playful, experimental and entertaining way. The Müritzeum's geologist, Bastian Bruckhoff, will guide guests through the special exhibition several times in short special tours and tell interesting facts about Eugen Geinitz and his time that cannot be read in the exhibition. The Müritzeum team will be supported on the day by partners of the Geinitz Year.
The action day is part of the program accompanying the current special exhibition "Eugen Geinitz - Exploring the Ice Age Landscape in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern".
Anyone interested is cordially invited to get to the bottom of the topics of geology and the fields of activity of a geologist.
Admission to the action day is included in the admission price to the Müritzeum.
