Mecklenburg-Vorpommern State Youth Orchestra plays children's concert "Big music for little ears" - an orchestra plays for the youngest audience, for children of pre-school and primary school age. The Mecklenburg-Vorpommern State Youth Orchestra will be back in Ludwigslust again this year to perform big music for little ears! The traditional children's concert will take place on February 9, 2024 at the Erwin Bernien Sports Forum and invites children of pre-school and primary school age to experience classical music!
The Mecklenburg-Vorpommern State Youth Orchestra is a selective orchestra sponsored by the Mecklenburg-Vorpommern State Music Council that brings together the best young musicians in the state. The young musicians bring classical music within reach of the young listeners! This year's program includes Antonín Dvořák's Symphony No. 8 and Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy's Hebrides Overture.
This year, the youth orchestra will be conducted by guest conductor Prof. Florian Erdl, professor at the Rostock University of Music and Drama.
The State Youth Orchestra will also perform two further symphony concerts at the end of this year's winter work phase: On 10.02.2024 at the Mecklenburg-Schwerin State Theater Schwerin and on 11.02.2024 at the Neustrelitz State Theater. The two symphony concerts will also feature Edvard Grieg's piano concerto, performed by pianist Prof. Florian Uhlig.
