November 11 not only heralds the start of the carnival season, but also a beautiful custom awaits the children of Warnemünde and all guests on St. Martin's Day.
November 11 not only heralds the start of the carnival season, there is also a wonderful tradition for Warnemünde's children and all guests on St. Martin's Day. The Evangelical Lutheran parish and the Rostock & Warnemünde Tourist Office invite you to the St. Martin's procession on this day. After the St. Martin's Day service in the church at 5.00 pm, the procession starts here at 5.30 pm with hearty musical accompaniment from The Marching Saints and led by St. Martin on horseback. The lantern procession continues along the Alter Strom, past the lighthouse and ends in the Kurhausgarten, where it ends with delicious food, hot drinks and a small musical interlude surrounded by fire bowls.
