With their second album "Bajo el mismo cielo - Under the same sky", the band Spanish Mode, consisting of four accomplished musicians and the charismatic lead singer Claudia Wandt, present an exquisite musical journey through the realms of Spain and South and Central America. The songs tell of different facets of life: of farewells and new beginnings, of love and being a stranger, of happiness and bad luck, of surmountable borders and unstoppable dreams. Familiar hits such as the famous "Lambada" are given a refreshing new interpretation in the hands of the musicians and become a listening experience. A children's song about folded paper boats filled with wishes that drift from puddles out to the wide open sea finds a new dimension through Spanish Mode's sensitive interpretation - far removed from any clichés. The well-rehearsed band includes guitarist Frank Kaiser, who masterfully juggles between classical, electric and jazz guitar, and double bassist Christian Sievert. New to the band is the bustling drummer Dominique "Gaga" Ehlert, who fits perfectly into the ensemble. Multi-instrumentalist Henning Plankl enriches the formation as a special guest with his playing and ideas on saxophone, clarinet, flute and accordion. By changing the line-up, Spanish Mode opens up to blues, rock and jazz on selected songs. This creates improvisational space for guitarist Frank Kaiser, who knows how to convince with a broad spectrum of guitar sounds. This variety of sounds forms the ideal foundation for the versatile voice of Claudia Wandt, who has found a vocal home in the Spanish language. Her expressive interpretations lend the songs a deeper soul and allow the audience to intensely experience the poetic lyrics of the songs from Mexico, Cuba, Argentina, Spain, Portugal, Venezuela, Chile and Bolivia, among others. Folkloric echoes are interwoven with rocking guitar solos, accompanied by flute, clarinet, saxophone, accordion and a perfectly accentuated bass, as well as a voice that gets under your skin.
