A woman, a motorcycle and lots of stories from the logbook

True to the motto 'You never know...', Michaela Münzberg got her motorcycle license in her youth and has never ridden again since. 30 years later, on one of her trips to Nepal, she fell in love with a motorcycle - a Royal Enfield - and learned to ride again in the chaotic city traffic of Kathmandu and on the surrounding slopes.

Michi had to master several critical situations on her very first day. This gave her the confidence she needed to explore the Kathmandu valley on her own. Together with a local friend, she crossed the Shivapuri mountain range and visited a village that she had supplied with relief supplies after the earthquake. The people there were astonished, as they had never seen a foreigner before.

After Michi's return from Nepal, she couldn't get the motorcycle out of her mind. She was fascinated by the fascinating history of this bike, which originated in England and is now produced in India. The inevitable happened - she ordered a Royal Enfield, unpacked it herself from the shipping container and christened it "LADY". After a few short test rides, during which they got used to each other, Michi bought a tent, sleeping bag and sleeping mat, had the mayor of her home town of Wilthen write her a greeting and set off for Scandinavia. Her destination was the three Nordic royal houses in Copenhagen, Stockholm and Oslo. She was less interested in the crowned heads than in taking a photo of her royal "lady" in front of the royal palace. Michi faced a number of challenges along the way, with the heavy rainfall being the hardest on her. She camped on a golf course, slept in a wooden hut and stayed overnight with a Norwegian family. A particular highlight of this tour was the exploration of the polar research ship "FRAM", which found its last anchorage in Oslo.993 km, the longest and toughest leg of the trip was a non-stop journey from Oslo to Rostock, where Michi covered the last 9 hours at night in pouring rain - without rain gear, of course, in jeans and leather shoes. But even that didn't discourage her ... Michi has now traveled to 23 countries with her 'Lady'. Even though the speedometer already shows over 45,000 kilometers, she still doesn't know where the spark plugs are or how to tighten the chain. But she knows one thing for sure: "My journey has only just begun! "
