Sorbian Easter eggs

When: April 5, 2025 10 a.m. - 3 p.m.

Where: Rethwisch, Pappelhof 19

You can learn the traditional embossing technique of the Sorbs (Cottbus). Beautiful, colorful wax is dabbed onto the egg with quills and other tools and left there. This creates beautiful patterns on the egg. I will provide you with the material. And you can take the tools/swabs home with you for the next time.
I had the pleasure of learning this wonderful old technique from a true Sorbian. And now I am happy to pass this knowledge on to you. In a pleasant atmosphere, with coffee and pastries, this is sure to be a wonderful day. Whether you give the eggs away as a lucky charm, as is Sorbian tradition, or decorate your home with them is up to you.
