On the 50th anniversary of his death
"The problems of human life from beginning to end" - with these words, Maxim Shostakovich succinctly summarized his father Dmitri's 15th Symphony. Beginning and end are also reflected in the program of this concert: while Shostakovich composed his first piano trio at the age of 17, Symphony No. 15, his last work in this genre, is one of the Russian composer's late works. To mark the 50th anniversary of Shostakovich's death in 2025, the artists will dedicate an entire afternoon to the composer and immerse themselves in his unique world of sound. After the intimate atmosphere of the early trio, the audience will experience the universe of an entire symphony, performed in concentrated form by just a few musicians.
