Vernissage on Saturday 22.03.2025 at 17.00 o'clock
The sea connects countries and, in this show, the gaze of artists from East and West. Since the 17th century, the seascape has existed as a pictorial genre in its own right, especially in Holland. Ideas about the sea have changed since then. Today, a collective romantic landscape image characterizes the view of the sea as a stage for inner projections and states such as longing for freedom, distance, adventure and sensuality. The protagonists show their perception of a landscape on the border between land and water. Among others, the Museum Kunst der Ostküste has been invited to present seascapes.
