Mowing and dengeling course for home use in cooperation with the Müritz National Park and the State Office for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Geology
What to bring: comfortable, weather-appropriate clothing and non-slip shoes, packed lunch
All material (scythe, scythe blade, scythe tree, whetstone and container) is provided and can also be purchased. Previous knowledge is not required.
ECOLOGICAL
Bees and other insects, as well as many herbs, benefit when meadows are only mowed after flowering. Be amazed at the diversity of species and the increasing quality of your meadow. The tall grass is easy to mow with a scythe.
EFFECTIVE
From the smallest corner to 2 m mowing width, around trees and on steep slopes, from high grass to play lawns, faster and better than you think - with the right scythe.
QUIET
No engine noise.
Just the cutting noise of the scythe. Still mowing after work or on a Sunday? No problem with the scythe!
HEALTHY
Proper mowing is gentle on the whole body - studies prove this. The direct contact with nature, the smell of the grass, the sound of the blade and the scent of the flowers - all this has a very relaxing - almost meditative - effect.
EASY
Experienced scythe instructors teach the correct mowing technique step by step. Anyone can also learn how to denge.
With "a good cutting edge", mowing becomes child's play - even for children.
In the 8-hour course, you will learn how to mow and denge with the scythe in a way that is easy on the body and does not cause fatigue, and you will be surprised how easy it is!
During the course, you will get to know and intensively practise 3 different denging methods. When dengeling, the cutting edge (the dengel) of the scythe is hammered very thinly. The dengel is then sharpened
