Bright half-timbered houses with lovingly decorated shop windows, decorated old town alleyways, the smell of roasted almonds and hot mead or mulled wine: Schwerin's Christmas market announces the approach of Christmas around the imposing brick spire and historic squares of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern's state capital.
