The Rossini Strings will once again be giving their highly popular New Year's concert on December 30 at the Kunsthalle Kühlungsborn.
The Rostock Chamber Quartet
New Year's Eve concert
"Journey of discovery into new worlds"
Let the champagne corks pop brilliantly with your Rossini strings and discover unexpected worlds never heard before in the wonderful acoustics of the Kunsthalle Kühlungborn.
Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, who we thought we knew everything about, gave us a sparkling and completely unexpected masterpiece from his youth. It was officially presented and premiered in the new Köchel catalog KV 648 on 21.09.2024 as "Ganz kleine Nachtmusik" and comes from the Carl Ferdinand Becker collection in Leipzig. Mozart composed this for 2 violins and basso (i.e. double bass) and this is the first time in the world that it has been performed with your Rossini strings! Rossini's first sonata, which he wrote at the same age as Mozart and which is entirely inspired by Mozart, is a natural match.
He wrote Antonin Dvorak's Quartet in F major while on vacation in the rural tranquillity of Spillville in the USA during his time as a conservatory director in New York and has the same pointedness and tonality as his 9th Symphony "From the New World". Let your Rossini Strings whisk you away to a never-before-heard sonority with rhythmic concision.
Discover Lullaby by Gershwin, the most successful composer of the "new world", as a world premiere with the Rossini Strings. Be there when you hear Downton Abbey live at the Kunsthallte Kühlungsborn, alongside "A Thousand Years" by Christina Perri and "At Last" by Etta James. We will only reveal the discoveries you will hear from Johann Strauss and others on 30.12.2024 in the most exciting concert that awaits you before the turn of the year.
