In the Romantic period, many works seem to be characterized by a melancholy mood. Is there an inherent connection between art and melancholy? Using various works by Caspar David Friedrich and the compositions of Franz Schubert, this fascinating connection will be brought to life: While you while you look at selected paintings by Friedrich, pieces by Schubert will be performed on the flute and piano. From a psychological perspective, Eva-Lotta Brakemeier will shed light on the creative connections between melancholy and artistic expression.
