Berlin journalist Andreas Ulrich is a gifted sports reporter - he presents the weekly soccer show "Arena Liga Live" on radioeins from the radioeins studio in Potsdam-Babelsberg. But that's not all: Andreas Ulrich is also a wonderful, subtle storyteller. He has proven this in numerous books (including "Torstraße 94, Zwei Kilometer Deutschland").
For his book "Die Kinder von der Fischerinsel" (ISBN: 9783814802503), Andreas Ulrich, born in East Berlin in 1960, visited his former classmates and schoolmates from Berlin's Fischerinsel, where he once lived with his family, five decades later to find out what happened to them.
Fischerinsel was built in the center of East Berlin between 1969 and 1973 - artists, families with many children, scientists, functionaries and diplomats met here. Everyday life in the GDR met celebrity and extravagance here. Andreas Ulrich's research took him far beyond Berlin. "Die Kinder von der Fischerinsel" brings together fascinating biographical portraits, but is also a document of contemporary history.
Ulrich hosted the youth radio station DT 64 from 1986. 60 years after DT 64, the book "Power von der Eastside" is now available again - Andreas Ulrich explains how this came about. We're also going to be covering a piece of audible contemporary history in the store - you can look forward to that!
