Vladimir Sorokin reads from his novel "Doctor Garin" at the Kulturscheune in the sculpture park in Katzow on 30.11.24
The Russian writer Vladimir Sorokin will be reading from his new novel "Doctor Garin" at the Kulturscheune im Skulpturenpark in Katzow on 30.11.2024. Born in 1955, Sorokin is one of the best-known contemporary Russian writers. He now lives in Germany. Since the late Soviet era, his literary works have dealt sarcastically with authoritarian systems, violence and ideological manipulation. In a sometimes grotesque and dystopian style, he exposes the depravity and absurdity of the exercise of authoritarian power and the position of the individual in such systems. His best-known works include "Der himmelblaue Speck" (2000), "Der Tag des Opritschniks" (2006) and "Der Schneesturm" (2010). Prof. Dr. Jakob Schirmer from the Skulpturenpark-Verein will host the reading. There will also be an opportunity to talk to the author. Wine accompaniment will be provided.
Start of the reading on 30.11.2024: 17:00. Tickets for 15 euros are available at mail@sklupa.de. As places are limited, please book in advance.
