Reading with Rike Reiniger
Sophie, a young law student, becomes embroiled in an examination scandal and is now on trial as a witness for the defense. She has to make a decision: Will she tell the truth and risk her exam? Or will she remain silent and allow an innocent person to be convicted? In this conflict, the student's coincidental identity with the resistance fighter against National Socialism becomes a touchstone of conscience.
In two parallel storylines, the text interweaves the life of the historical Sophie Scholl and the conflict of conscience of today's Sophie Scholl.
The author Rike Reiniger reads from her book "Name: Sophie Scholl" and then enters into a discussion with the audience.
