The Schwerin author Fred Schulz reads from his novel "Kursänderung". Admission: €10.00
About the content of the book:
In 1989, the FRIEDLAND is on three voyages between Rostock and Asia. While political change slowly begins at home, everything on board is going its "socialist way". Long cut off by scant information, the crew is gradually caught up in the events in the GDR. For some it is a relief, for others a defeat and disappointment. But for everyone it was also a journey home into the unknown.
Fred Schulz himself sailed on a VEB Deutfracht/Seereederei Rostock container ship at the time. In his novel, whose ship, plot and characters are fictitious, he describes the situation on board in the year of reunification. The visions of the future of individuals, but also the conflicts, fears and hopes of the seafarers.
