At the Lesbar on March 20, 2024, Marie-Louise Bartels will read from "Dein Herz ist mein Meer" by Courtney Peppernell as well as selected works of her own.
Courtney Peppernell is an LGBTQ author living in Sydney. She has been writing for as long as she can remember. Her poetry collection "Your Heart is My Sea" (originally "Pillow Thoughts") was a surprise success and made her a bestselling author overnight. Her poems deal with love, hope and life and are so touchingly genuine that it is almost impossible to escape their pull. Marie-Louise Bartels intersperses these poems with her own thoughts about love and loss and "in the end, it's about what remains between the lines and what you feel".
